Driving Digital Growth with DUT and EDTEA’s Enterprise Development Programme
Over the course of two productive days, I had the privilege of training 20 entrepreneurs from across KwaZulu-Natal as part of the DUT and EDTEA Enterprise Development Programme. This intensive digital marketing workshop focused on equipping participants with modern strategies to build and grow their businesses online. From understanding social media tactics to leveraging digital tools for lead generation, the training delivered practical, actionable knowledge tailored for today’s business environment. The entrepreneurs were eager to learn how platforms like WordPress, Facebook, LinkedIn, and email marketing can help boost visibility, attract clients, and increase sales.
This initiative falls under the broader mandate of the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA), whose mission is to drive inclusive economic growth through policy implementation and collaborative development. EDTEA’s partnership with DUT and the private sector aims to close the digital skills gap, enabling businesses to compete locally and globally. As the digital economy continues to expand, initiatives like these are vital in preparing small business owners to adapt, grow, and thrive in a rapidly changing marketplace.
